7 billion hryvnias of income to be declared by Ukrainian deputies in two years

Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine reported on the amount of income and taxes paid in 2022 and 2023. Despite the war and the unfavorable economic situation, the fortunes of the majority of people’s representatives increased. As a result, in 2023, the income level increased by 298 parliamentarians. This is evidenced by the data of the online analytical system YouControl.

Analysts of the service checked the tax declarations of all people’s deputies. The total amount of wealth earned by parliamentarians over two years exceeded 7 billion hryvnias.

Despite the fact that the parliamentary majority belongs to the “Servant of the People” faction, the incomes of parliamentarians from another political force were higher.

“42% of the amount is made up of the incomes of deputies of “European Solidarity”, 18% – “Servants of the People”, 12% – “Party for the Future”, 6% – “Trust”, 5% – incomes of non-factional People’s Deputies. Incomes of representatives of other political forces are a little more than 10% of the total amount,” says the analysts’ report.

Only 159 people’s elected officials had at least half of all incomes. In 2022, salaries were the main source of financial income for as many as 290 deputies. This means that they mostly had additional income, but its amount was less than what they received in the Verkhovna Rada.

It is worth noting that not only the financial income of people’s elected representatives from various sources increased, but also the salary itself. Parliamentarians received an average of UAH 638,000 each last year. This is 36% more than in 2022.
