A children’s railway was fired upon in Kharkiv
The shelling of the civilian infrastructure of Kharkiv and the region continues. Russian troops attack residential buildings and places of rest. On May 19, 10 civilians died as a result of hostilities in the region. The Children’s Railway of Kharkiv also came under fire.
The shells damaged the tracks and wagons of the mini-railway. No one was injured during the shelling of the object.
“Unfortunately, civil railway infrastructure has again been hit – the children’s railway. Rolling stock and buildings were damaged. Fortunately, no one was injured,” Ukrzaliznytsia JSC reported.
May is traditionally the opening month of children’s railways throughout Ukraine. In particular, the Kyiv and Dnipro divisions of the railway for children resumed work two weeks ago. Visitors are invited there on weekends. In addition to the opportunity to ride in mini-wagons, children have the opportunity to learn. In particular, schoolchildren are offered to try themselves in the role of a station attendant, a conductor of passenger cars, a driver, a track master, etc.
If travel on the trains of the Children’s Railway is paid, then training is free.
In Kharkiv, this year, the Children’s Railway did not open for visitors. Ukrzaliznytsia made such a decision in view of the security situation in the region.
