A “golden throne” with a toilet was installed in Washington in protest against renovations at the White House

A large throne with a golden toilet has appeared on the National Mall in Washington, which has become a criticism of the renovation of the White House carried out by US President Donald Trump. This is reported by Reuters.

The installation is decorated in marble and gold, and instead of a seat on the throne, a toilet has been installed. The plaque reads, “A Throne Fit for a King.”

“In a time of unprecedented division, escalating conflict, and economic turmoil, President Trump has focused on what truly matters: the renovation of the Lincoln Bathroom in the White House,” the plaque on the throne reads.

The plaque also reads: “It stands as a tribute to the steadfast visionary who looked down, saw a problem, and painted it gold.”

A roll of toilet paper with the words “Secret Handshake” on a holder was placed next to the installation at the Lincoln Memorial.

“Secret Handshake” is a partisan art group that has installed about a dozen statues and other objects on the National Mall criticizing Trump and his supporters over the past 16 months,” The Washington Post reported.

The individuals behind the group, whose real names The Washington Post did not identify, use an intermediary to obtain permits from the National Park Service to install their objects.

“President Trump is making the White House and our nation’s capital more beautiful than ever before. “The President will never stop working on behalf of the American people and delivering on the promises he was elected to deliver by an overwhelming majority,” White House spokesman Davis Ingle said in response to criticism of Trump’s actions.
