A journalist and cameraman from the “Freedom” TV channel were killed in a Russian drone strike in Kramatorsk
As a result of a Russian drone strike on a civilian car in Kramatorsk, journalist of the TV channel “Freedom” Elena Gubanova and cameraman Yevgeny Karmazin died. This was reported by the head of the regional military administration Vadym Filashkin.
“As a result of a strike by an enemy UAV “Lancet” in Kramatorsk, journalist of the TV channel “Freedom” Elena Gubanova and cameraman Yevgeny Karmazin died. From the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, they covered the situation in the region, told the truth about enemy crimes, the evacuation of the civilian population, and the stories of our defenders. They worked in the hottest spots of the Donetsk region, they were always the first everywhere, – the message says.
The information about the death of the journalists was confirmed during the broadcast of the “Freedom” TV channel. The host Yuriy Kulinych noted that Olena and Yevhen worked in the “hottest spots of the Donetsk region” and expressed sincere condolences to their families.
Olena Gubanova (creative pseudonym – Olena Gramova) was born in 1982 in Yenakiyevo, Donetsk region. She has been engaged in journalism since her student days. After completing her studies, she worked as a presenter on the radio “Melodia”, and later on regional television.
Since March 2021, Olena has joined the team of the TV channel “Dim”. In June 2023, she was awarded the Order of Princess Olga, 3rd degree.
