A number of Russian regions have been subjected to massive drone attacks: fires have broken out
On the night of August 2, a number of Russian regions, as well as the temporarily occupied Crimea, were attacked by drones. The heads of regions of the Russian Federation and mass media reported on the incidents. Information about explosions and fires appeared in local publications.
Five or six explosions rang out in Ryazan at night. The governor of the Ryazan region, Pavlo Malkov, said that drones were allegedly shot down over the territory of the region by means of air defense and radio-electronic warfare. There were no casualties or damage to residential buildings. According to him, debris fell on the territory of the enterprise, the consequences are being eliminated. Currently, it is known about the fire at the Ryazan Oil Refinery.
There was also unrest in Novokuybyshevsk, Samara region. Around 03:00 a.m., the threat of a drone attack was announced in the region. The first explosions rang out around 04:30, and there were at least 15 of them in total.
The governor of the Samara region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, said that one of the industrial enterprises in Novokuibyshevsk was hit. According to him, the operation of mobile Internet is temporarily limited in the region. Temporary restrictions on flights have been introduced at Kurumoch airport. The Novokuibyshev Refinery was attacked. A large-scale fire was reported after the impact.
The threat of BpLA was also announced in the Penza region. Penza airport has suspended the departure and reception of planes. Public transport and the bus station are temporarily closed, Governor Oleg Melnychenko said. At least five explosions rang out in the regional center. Local residents claim that one of the drones was shot down by an air defense system over the forest. Smoke was detected at the place where the debris fell. The object of the attack was the enterprise “Electroprybor”.
Explosions also rang out in the temporarily occupied Crimea — in particular, in Feodosia and near Kerch. Representatives of the occupation authorities did not comment on the situation. According to ASTRA, smoke was recorded after the explosions in Feodosia.
In addition, drones attacked the Rostov region. Governor Yuriy Slyusar reported that one of the company’s buildings was taken up in the village of Vuglerivske, Krasnosulin district. According to him, an employee died as a result of the attack. Explosions were also heard at night in Taganroz, Millerov and other settlements of the region. The operation of air defense systems is reported.
