A resident of Dnipropetrovsk will be tried for possession of cannabis worth 25 million hryvnias
The prosecutors of the Kamian district prosecutor’s office sent an indictment to the court against a local resident, who is accused of the illegal manufacture, purchase and storage of narcotics in particularly large quantities for the purpose of sale, as well as the illegal cultivation of hemp and storage of military supplies without the appropriate permit (part 3 of Article 307, Part 2 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to the investigation, the accused was buying cannabis seeds over the Internet and growing the plants on a plot of land near his house. To care for the plantation, he used modern technologies, equipped the system of irrigation, lighting, ventilation and cultivated the land. All work was carried out at night, observing the measures of the conspiracy.
The man dried the harvested crop, packed it in slip-bags and prepared it for sale. During the search, the law enforcement officers seized about 100 kg of cannabis, more than 200 hemp plants, as well as cartridges, F-1 and M-67 grenade cases, electronic scales, mobile phones and a car.
According to estimates, the value of seized cannabis on the black market is about 25 million hryvnias.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the police department No. 2 of the Kamian district police department of the GUNP in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
It is worth noting that according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
