The Cabinet of Ministers allocated 246.4 million hryvnias for additional payments to emergency recovery crews
On February 23, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the allocation of 246.4 million hryvnias to support workers of emergency repair teams who restored Ukraine’s energy supply after Russian strikes in January of this year. Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that these funds will be used to pay additional payments of 20 thousand hryvnias each to workers who ensure the restoration of electricity, heat and water, and the money will be transferred to the teams’ current bank accounts.
The project involves all enterprises of the fuel and energy complex, housing and communal services, and Ukrzaliznytsia. Lists of employees for payments are formed by enterprises and submitted through the “Diya” portal.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko noted that in January, almost 12.5 thousand energy workers participated in the restoration of energy infrastructure, and they will also be entitled to additional payments of 20 thousand hryvnias in February and March.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced these additional payments on January 23 for employees of the fuel and energy complex, housing and communal services, and Ukrzaliznytsia involved in the elimination of the consequences of Russian shelling.
On February 6, the “Diya” portal began accepting applications for additional payments, and on February 18, the government adopted a decision on establishment of an annual award for energy sector workers.
