A restaurant of Ukrainian cuisine “Zhyto” was opened in Japan
On May 15, the grand opening of the restaurant of Ukrainian cuisine “Zhyto” took place in the city of Nagoya, Japan. This facility is special because its staff consists of Ukrainians who found refuge in Japan as part of the protection program.

The opening of the restaurant was a significant event, which was attended by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Japan Serhiy Korsunskyi, Mayor of Nagoya Takashi Kawamura, Deputy Governor of Aichi Prefecture Rika Makino, as well as business and media representatives.
The Ambassador of Ukraine congratulated the Ukrainian community in Japan on this event and noted the importance of culinary diplomacy in strengthening political ties.
The head of the NPO JUCA association Lyudmila Plys-Kawaguchi emphasized that the mission of the restaurant “Zhyto” is not only to introduce Japanese people to Ukrainian cuisine, but also to create jobs and space for communication for Ukrainian refugees.
