A series of explosions were heard in Voronezh: a company that produces missile components was damaged
On the afternoon of June 22, a series of explosions were heard in Voronezh, Russia. According to Russian Telegram channels, a military plant that produces components for missile weapons was hit.
Around 12:00, residents of Voronezh began writing about the explosions in the city. Photos and videos appeared online showing tall columns of smoke above the probable locations of the hits. According to preliminary information, the strike on Voronezh could have been carried out by Storm Shadow missiles.
Telegram channels report that the Voronezh semiconductor plant “Sborka” could have been hit as a result of the attack. This enterprise is under sanctions from a number of countries.
According to open data, the plant produces transistors, diodes, integrated circuits and power modules. Such components can be used in the onboard control systems of Russian missiles, in particular “Iskander-K”, “X-101” and “Caliber”.
In addition, the company’s products are used in radar stations and air defense systems, including the S-400. The plant also supplies semiconductor matrices for the Zorya-61M onboard computer system, which is part of the 9M727 cruise missile of the Iskander-K complex.
The Russian authorities confirmed the attack on the Voronezh region. The governor said that several high-speed air targets were allegedly destroyed over the region, and also reported damage to one of the enterprises. According to him, three people were injured. At the same time, he did not specify which enterprise was damaged.
