The President of the United States, Donald Trump, made another public statement regarding the war in Ukraine. In a post on Truth Social’s own platform, he expressed hope for a significant breakthrough in the process of ending hostilities between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump characterized May 10 as a potentially decisive day for both sides of the conflict, noting:
“Potentially a big day for Russia and Ukraine! Think of the hundreds of thousands of lives that will be saved when this endless ‘bloodbath’ is hopefully over.”
According to him, the end of the war could open the way to a new stage in international relations and global politics.
The US president also declared his readiness to continue to act as a mediator in the process of reaching agreements that could stop the bloodshed.
“I will continue to work with both sides to make sure that happens. Instead, the U.S. wants to focus on recovery and trade.” – assured Trump, without specifying which negotiations or steps he was talking about.
At the end of the post, Trump intrigued his followers by saying that there was a “big week” ahead, without providing details. His words were heard against the background of expectations regarding the next stage of diplomatic efforts or potential negotiations between Ukraine, Russia and Western partners.
