Alabuga drone factory in Tatarstan may affect the course of the war in Ukraine – WSJ

The Russian drone factory “Alabuga” in Tatarstan plans to produce 6,000 Shahed drones annually. According to WSJ report, this step could have a significant impact on the geopolitical situation, especially in the context of the war in Ukraine, where the use of drones has become part of the strategy of conducting hostilities.

According to the contract between the Russian plant managers and their Iranian partners, which was disclosed by the Prana Network (a hacking group that said in February of this year that it had hacked email servers linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. – Ed.), which independently two company advisers confirmed, the Alabuz plant plans to produce 6,000 Shahed attack drones a year, in addition to surveillance drones… According to the International Institute for Strategic Studies, a London-based defense-focused think tank, the plant was ahead of its production schedule in late April, having already delivered 4500 Shahed”, – stated in the WSJ publication.

The material noted that the company uses Iranian technology and also attracts workers from East Africa. It is worth noting that the localization of production in Russia can have a significant impact on the situation in Ukraine, given that the Russian Federation has previously used drones to attack power plants and other important objects. This activity attracts the attention of not only local experts, but also analysts from London, who are convinced that it can change the course of the war in Ukraine.
