Almost 150 battles during the day: the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was informed about the situation at the front
Over the past 24 hours, 148 combat clashes between the Ukrainian military and the Russian Federation took place on the front in Ukraine. About it on March 16 reported The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its morning briefing.
The enemy carried out most of the attacks in the Pokrov direction, where the defense forces of Ukraine stopped 36 offensive actions of the aggressor. Fighting took place in the areas of the settlements of Sukha Balka, Oleksandropil, Novotoretske, Elizavetivka, Svyridonivka, Promin, Kotlyna, Uspenivka, Nadiivka and Andriivka.
In the Kursk region of Russia, 19 combat clashes were recorded, which indicates the intensification of hostilities in this direction.
The enemy carried out 34 air strikes, dropping 63 guided aerial bombs. Also, 243 artillery strikes were carried out, including five with the use of rocket salvo systems.
In addition, during the day, Russian troops carried out 17 attacks in the Torets direction, stormed the positions of Ukrainian forces in the Orichiv direction 15 times, 16 attacks occurred in the Liman direction, and another 14 in the Novopavlov direction. Eight enemy assaults were repulsed in the Kharkiv direction, four attacks each took place in the Kupyan, Gulyaipil and Dnieper directions. In the northern direction, Ukrainian troops repelled two attacks, another one — in the Kramatorsk direction.
According to the updated data of the General Staff, the losses of the Russian army as of the morning of March 16 amounted to:
- personnel — approximately 894,240 military personnel, of which 1,400 were eliminated during the last day;
- tanks — 10,325 units (+10 per day);
- armored fighting vehicles — 21,478 (+20);
- artillery systems — 24,561 (+78);
- rocket launcher systems (RSZV) — 1,317 (+2);
- anti-aircraft defense means — 1,104 (+1);
- airplanes — 370;
- helicopters — 331.
In addition, Ukrainian troops destroyed thousands of other enemy vehicles.
