Amazon has developed AI glasses that will help drivers deliver packages

Amazon has unveiled new smart glasses with built-in artificial intelligence, designed to improve the safety and efficiency of delivery processes. The device is designed specifically for drivers and allows them to scan packages, get turn-by-turn navigation and confirm delivery without the need for a smartphone.

The new glasses combine AI-based touch recognition technologies, computer vision and built-in cameras to create an interactive head-up display. It displays everything you need to know, from navigation tips and hazard warnings to delivery tasks. When the driver safely stops the vehicle, the glasses are automatically activated, and data on the location of packages in the truck and the exact addresses of recipients appear before their eyes.

The glasses’ navigation system provides turn-by-turn directions to delivery points using Amazon’s own geospatial technologies, eliminating the need for drivers to constantly look at their smartphones. In difficult conditions — for example, in apartment complexes or large buildings — the device helps to quickly and safely find the right address.

The glasses come with a compact controller that is attached to the courier’s vest. It contains controls, a replaceable battery for operation throughout the working day, and an emergency call button for quick contact with rescue services if necessary.

The glasses are compatible with corrective lenses and are also equipped with photochromic lenses that automatically adapt to the level of light, ensuring comfortable work in any conditions.
