An explosion rang out in the center of Paris near the Prime Minister’s residence (video)
On October 7, a truck caught fire in the center of Paris near the residence of French Prime Minister Sebastian Lecorne, who resigned the day before. There was also an explosion, reports Le Parisien.
The explosion happened during a scheduled meeting between Sebastien Lecornu and fellow politicians from the central bloc. The meeting was attended by Edouard Philippe, Speaker of the National Assembly Yael Braun-Pivet and Speaker of the Senate Gerard Larchet.
According to the police, there were gas cylinders inside the truck, which caused fears of a possible explosion. It is noted that the balloons did not catch fire as a result of the incident. According to the fire service, the sound of the explosion was caused by small aerosol cans, not gas.
The van that caught fire belongs to Cielis, the company responsible for public lighting in Paris. According to a firefighter, the company’s equipment, which was used to detect short circuits, caught fire and flames spread throughout the truck. A security perimeter was established around the car. The fire did not spread to neighboring houses, no one was injured.
Let us remind you that on October 6, French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu resigned about 14 hours after presenting the composition of the Cabinet of Ministers. The President approved this resignation.
