An online platform for preventive medicine was created in Ukraine

Preventive Hub, an online preventive medicine platform, has started operating in Ukraine, the main purpose of which is to spread knowledge about disease prevention. About this said the senior researcher of the Department of Clinical Arrhythmology and Electrophysiology of the Institute of Cardiology, Clinical and Regenerative Medicine named after NAMNU Security Officer Olga Sribna during the SRNT-E 2025 conference in Romania.

“The Preventive Hub platform is aimed not only at specialists, doctors, but also at a wider circle of people who are interested in lifestyle correction and prevention of certain groups of diseases. The platform, created under the auspices of the public organization “ Preventive Cardiology and Rehabilitation”, will contain scientific popularization content that will be relevant both to preventive medicine and to patients”, – noted Olga Sribna.

She emphasized that chronic non-communicable diseases, including cardiovascular, oncological diseases, diabetes and lung diseases, cause up to 70% of deaths in the world. During the war, mental and reproductive health problems are added. That is why experts from various fields were involved in the work of the platform: specialists in the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular, oncological diseases, diabetes, chronic lung pathologies, as well as a reproductive specialist, a neurophysiologist, a military psychologist, a psychiatrist and a narcologist.

“We aim at the following four aspects: conversation, prevention, improvement of treatment, elimination of progression of non-communicable diseases. It is also a matter of healthy nutrition and mental health. Our task – diagnose the disease correctly, know how to eliminate its manifestations and reduce them in later life, which specifically for the patient should be expressed in the improvement of the quality of life, in its prolongation, – Olga Sribna explained.

The content of the platform is focused both on primary prevention, i.e. preventing the development of diseases, and on secondary prevention – when the patient already has diagnosed problems and needs support in lifestyle correction. Feedback is also provided: users will be able to get answers from experts. For doctors, the resource contains materials and research in separate areas.

“Our platform aims to shed some light on those moments in life that are important and that we often forget. When we talk about medical practice, about “high matters”, we are talking about highly qualified medical care at the tertiary level, when there are already complications. And we must talk about the fact that it is necessary to prevent complications, and talk about it with doctors of primary, secondary, and tertiary care, – concluded Olga Sribna.
