The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiga, has identified the key directions of the state’s diplomatic activity for the near future. According to him, these steps should help Ukraine survive the war and force Russia to think about ending it. Sybiga wrote about this on Facebook.
He named the consolidation of international support to strengthen the air defense system and ensure the country’s energy sustainability as the first task.
“The decisions made during the visits of the President of Ukraine to Norway (150 million dollars for gas), Sweden (up to 150 Gripen aircraft) and Great Britain (joint production of air defense) clearly reflect these priorities,” — the head of the Foreign Ministry noted.
The second direction of Sibiga’s diplomatic work is cooperation with partners to increase pressure on Russia.
“It is necessary to transfer the war to the territory of Russia, where it came from, and increase the price of its continuation, strengthening our army and sanctions pressure”, — the minister emphasized.
He also drew attention to the recent steps of partners, which, according to him, demonstrate the growth of international support for Ukraine: new EU and US sanctions packages, assistance from Norway and agreements with Sweden on Gripen fighters.
“Furthermore, everything will only get worse for the Russian Federation if It will not stop the war against Ukraine. Sanctions will intensify. Oil and gas revenues will fall. Ukraine’s strikes will become more destructive. The number of Russian casualties on the front will be even greater. International isolation will be even deeper. Hopes for weakening Ukraine’s support or our defense capabilities are even more illusory.
We will continue to make every effort to make the price of continuing the war for Russia unprecedentedly high and force the aggressor to stop the war, — Andriy Sybiga concluded.
He emphasized that Ukraine will continue to work to make continuing the war as expensive as possible for the aggressor and force the Kremlin to stop fighting.
