A festival of adaptive sports will be held in Ivano-Frankivsk

On September 27, a festival of adaptive sports will be held in Ivano-Frankivsk. Within its limits, veterans will play friendly wheelchair basketball matches and compete for the Petros Cup. in archery. This was reported in the press service of the Frankivsk Half Marathon team.

Event guests will have the opportunity to participate in various adaptive disciplines. During the event, funds will be collected for ten wheelchairs needed to create the first wheelchair basketball team in the region.

“We hold a festival of adaptive sports in order to show in practice, and not in theory, how sports have a positive effect on military personnel and veterans from the point of view of physical and mental health. This is the mission of the Frankish half-marathon, which we have been carrying for 12 years, to take a direct part in the transformation of people, to make them beautiful, happy, healthy, successful, said general director of Frankivsk Half Marathon Igor Krytsak.

Every participant of the festival will be able to try their hand at adaptive sports – play wheelchair basketball, pétanque, bugurt, and try archery. Special simulators and interactive zones will also be prepared for visitors.

“At the last half-marathon, we collected money for equipment and the creation of sports centers in Prykarpattia. This year, the festival will have a logical continuation – the veteran archery competition “Petrosu Cup”. And this time, their athletes – veterans who overcome new challenges every day – will come to the start with the instructors, – noted the co-founder of the initiative “Veteran civil Petros” Natalka Naida.
