The defense forces of Ukraine struck again at the infrastructure of the Russian military airfield “Engels-2”, where the Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers of the 22nd heavy bomber air division of the Russian Federation are stationed. As a result of the attack on the territory of the “Krystal” oil depot, tanks with aviation fuel for the Tu-160 aircraft, which Russia uses for attacks on the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine, were once again engaged. According to the military, the multi-day operation aimed at reducing the combat capability of the enemy’s strategic aviation has been successfully completed.
“We are doing everything possible so that the fire brigades of Engels, which have just extinguished the flames after the previous strike, are not left without work in the conditions of the increasingly difficult economic situation in Russia”, the message says.
We will remind that on January 8, explosions rang out in the Russian city of Engels, local authorities and residents spoke about the drone attack and the work of air defense. At the same time, it became known that a large-scale fire broke out at an oil depot in the vicinity of the city of Engels.
