Assistance for IDPs with children: new payments in the Kyiv region

The war in Ukraine brought incredible trials to millions of people who were forced to leave their homes and seek refuge in other regions. For many IDPs with children who ended up in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, life remains difficult, but there are opportunities to get the necessary support. One such step is new financial payments to cover basic needs such as food and hygiene. This aid is an important contribution to support those who find themselves in a difficult situation.
Internally displaced persons registered in Kyiv or the Kyiv region have the opportunity to receive new cash payments, which is reported on the official website of the “Welfare of Children” charitable foundation. The support program provides financial assistance in the amount of 2,400 hryvnias per person per month for four months for families with children under the age of 18 who meet certain criteria:
- Relocated from temporarily occupied territories or combat zones in accordance with the current List of Territories published on the website of the Ministry for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
- Have a current IDP status obtained after February 24, 2022.
- Currently registered and living in Kyiv or Kyiv region.
- They did not receive Metro vouchers from the Children’s Welfare Fund in 2022-2024.
- Currently not receiving financial assistance from another organization.
These funds are intended for the purchase of food and hygiene products. In order to receive payments, it is necessary to fill out a pre-selection questionnaire by August 18.
The charity warns that if a person does not meet the criteria under which assistance is provided, it may be canceled and already paid funds may be required to be returned to the state.
In order to participate in the program, it is necessary to fill out a questionnaire for pre-selection, which is available on the official website of the fund. The application deadline is August 18. However, it is important to understand that filling out the questionnaire does not guarantee receiving assistance, because the final decision on granting funds will be made based on the analysis of the submitted data and compliance with the criteria.
This new initiative of the Children’s Welfare Foundation is an important step in supporting internally displaced persons who have found themselves in a difficult life situation due to the war. Financial assistance, although it does not solve all problems, can be an important support for many families, helping them to survive a difficult period. However, it is important to read the terms and conditions of the program carefully and apply in time so as not to miss the opportunity to receive this important assistance.
