At least 12 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes on New Year’s Eve

At least 12 Palestinians, mostly women and children, were killed in Israeli strikes on New Year’s Day in the Gaza Strip. About this informs The Guardian. The events took place against the background of an almost 15-month conflict that continues into the new year.
One of the strikes hit a house in the Jabalia neighborhood of northern Gaza. It is one of the most isolated and affected parts of the region, where Israel has been conducting large-scale military operations since October. The Gaza Ministry of Health reported the death of seven people, including a woman and four children, as well as a dozen wounded.
In the Bureij refugee camp, located in the central part of Gaza, a night strike claimed the lives of a woman and a child. This fact was confirmed at Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Hospital, where the bodies of the dead were received. Israel’s military said the strike was in response to rocket fire from the area by militants.
Another airstrike in the southern city of Khan Yunis killed three people. This was reported by the Nasser Hospital and the European Hospital, where the bodies of the victims were taken.
