Bails have been posted for two defendants in the Energoatom embezzlement case

Bails of UAH 12 million and UAH 25 million, respectively, were set for two defendants in the Energoatom embezzlement case — Lyudmila Zorina and Lesya Ustimenko. About this reportedin the press service of the Anti-Corruption Center.

Zorina’s lawyer reported that his client is currently in pre-trial detention and will be released on November 14. After being released from custody, Zorina must wear an electronic bracelet, surrender her passports, and appear when summoned by an investigator or judge.

Bail in the amount of 37 million hryvnias for two defendants in the Energoatom embezzlement case — money laundering “back office” employees Lesya Ustimenko and Lyudmila Zorina — was posted by the newly created company “Vangar”, whose authorized capital is one thousand hryvnias. On November 13, Vangar LLC transferred 25 million hryvnias to the VAKS for Ustimenko, and 12 million hryvnias for Zorina.

“Schemes” established that “Vangar” is a Kyiv company with an authorized capital of one thousand hryvnias, registered in May 2025. According to YouControl, the company does not own real estate or vehicles, and there are no signs of conducting economic activities. The main type of activity is “production of furniture for offices and trade enterprises.”

Journalists were unable to contact the director and beneficiary, Anatoly Sobol. A woman who is listed as his wife said by phone that she “does not know such a man.” The son of the company owner listened to questions about the bail for suspects Zorina and Ustimenko, said that he did not understand who they were talking about, and ended the conversation.

As a reminder, on November 12, the Supreme Court of Criminal Appeals (SCCA) selected a preventive measure for private entrepreneur Lyudmila Zorina in the form of detention for 60 days with the possibility of posting bail of 12 million hryvnias. On the same day, the SCCA also determined preventive measures for other persons involved in the case.

Private entrepreneur Lesya Ustimenko was sentenced to 60 days in custody with the right to post bail of 25 million hryvnias. She is listed in the case materials as a back-office employee.
