Biden criticized Trump’s policies for the first time since his presidency

Former US President Joe Biden for the first time after the end of his term publicly criticized the current head of state Donald Trump, focusing on the problems of social security. About this informs CNN.

Biden spoke at the Conference of Advocates, Counselors and Representatives of Persons with Disabilities, devoting the main part of his speech to the topic of social support in the United States.

“In less than 100 days, this new administration has done so much damage and so much destruction that it’s breathtaking how quickly it all happened.” – emphasized Biden.

The ex-president drew attention to the reduction in the number of employees of federal agencies, noting that this caused interruptions in the website of the Social Security Administration and made it difficult for citizens to access their own accounts. He also emphasized the need to protect the social security program, amid which Democrats are organizing nationwide protests against possible cuts to the program.

It was Biden’s first public appearance since his term ended in January. The issue of Ukraine was not discussed in the speech.

After Joe Biden’s speech, the Social Security Administration under the Trump administration accused the ex-president of “misinforming Americans.” The statement of the department emphasizes that Donald Trump has repeatedly assured of his intention to preserve the social security program, none of the offices were closed, and the information about the reduction of half of the technical staff is not true.

In addition, officials in the Tampa administration countercharged, saying that under the previous administration, billions of dollars were spent on illegal payments and about two million undocumented immigrants received Social Security numbers.
