The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution that opens the possibility of creating certified private schools for training drone operators. This solution responds to the growing demand for qualified specialists in the management of unmanned aerial vehicles, especially in military units. About this reported Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov in his Telegram channel.
He emphasized the importance of the development of such a profession. According to him, the demand for drone operators in military structures is constantly increasing, and educational institutions capable of providing high-quality training are needed.
“The need for professional drone operators is constantly growing. There is a demand for this profession in military units, so we need educational institutions that will provide quality knowledge.” – he emphasized.
According to the new government decision, such educational institutions will be able to receive certification, which will allow them to officially train operators. After completing the studies and successfully passing the exams, the graduates will be able to work in the units of the Security and Defense Forces.
To obtain certification, educational institutions must meet a number of requirements:
- To conduct training in the management or production of drones;
- Have at least three drones for practice;
- Develop training programs for pilots;
- Engage at least three certified instructors.
Mykhailo Fedorov noted that this decision of the government is aimed at allowing the work of only those educational institutions that will provide high-quality practical training necessary for performing tasks at the front.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal added that the government has established clear requirements for private schools, which will allow unifying the educational process. He also emphasized that it will be much easier for drone operators to obtain a military accounting specialty after completing their training.
