Canadian intelligence: TikTok is dangerous to use
Representatives of law enforcement agencies in Western countries have repeatedly emphasized the dangers that the Chinese social network TikTok can pose. By installing the application, users put their personal data at risk.
David Finho, the head of the Canadian Intelligence Service (CSIS), said that he “highly does not recommend” using the popular social network, because the interface of the application clearly shows that the platform collects and processes personal data in various ways.
It is because of this that Joe Biden recently signed a law that gives BytaDance, a subsidiary of TikTok in the US, a year to smoothly close its assets on the market and exit it. The company filed a lawsuit against this decision.
Canada’s intelligence chief is recommending that his country’s government do the same.
The head of TikTok’s official representation in Canada, Daniel Morgan, emphasizes that the company has never transferred the data of Canadian users to the Chinese government and will not do so, even if such a request comes.
