Cannes Film Festival bans revealing clothing and nudity

Organizers of the Cannes Film Festival have changed their dress code, banning revealing outfits and nudity at formal events this year after years of public debate over provocative attire. About this informs The Daily Mail.

The 78th Cannes Film Festival will open on May 13. On the eve of the start, the organizers published updated recommendations regarding the appearance of the guests. In recent years, attention to bold images on the red carpet often overshadowed the program of the festival, which takes place on the famous Croisette embankment.

According to the position of the organizers, the new restrictions are aimed at combating the popular fashion among celebrities for “bare dresses” – outfits that reveal more than conceal.

“For reasons of decency, nudity is prohibited on the red carpet, as in any other area of the festival. Host teams will be required to deny access to the red carpet to anyone who does not comply with these rules.” – says the document sent by the organizers of the Cannes Festival.

During the busy seven-day schedule, guests will gather in the Louis Lumiere Grand Auditorium for the main shows. The venue now follows a more conservative style, with patrons encouraged to opt for classic suits, tuxedos and long evening dresses over extravagant attire.

You can also wear classic little black dresses, cocktail dresses, pantsuits, party tops and elegant sandals with or without heels.
