China called on Ukraine and Russia to find out the causes of the “conflict”

China expresses its support for efforts aimed at a peaceful settlement of the war in Ukraine, and calls on the parties to focus on identifying the causes of the “conflict”. About this stated Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during the meeting of BRICS foreign ministers in Rio de Janeiro.
Wang Yi emphasized that under conditions of global instability, the BRICS countries should play an active role in supporting peace, development and justice in the world.
“China supports all steps leading to a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian conflict, and hopes that the parties will be able to find out its root causes and reach a balanced, long-term and binding peace agreement.” – said the head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Wang Yi called on the partners to maintain an objective position, strengthen cooperation with the United Nations and promote the political settlement of conflicts, particularly in Ukraine and the Middle East.
Despite close trade relations between Russia and China, official Beijing has repeatedly stated that it does not supply weapons to either side of the war. Chinese officials also emphasized that they are not involved in Russian aggression against Ukraine. However, there is ample evidence that China is helping Russia circumvent Western sanctions, which, among other things, helps support the Kremlin’s military actions.
