China called the US decision to exempt some electronics from duties “a small step towards correcting mistakes”

The Chinese government called the US decision to exempt some electronics from tariffs “a small step towards correcting previous mistakes”. At the same time, Beijing called on Washington to completely cancel the tariffs, informs Bloomberg.
“This is a small step for the US to correct its wrongdoing of unilateral ‘reciprocal tariffs'” – said the statement of the Ministry of Commerce of China.
The agency also called on the US to completely cancel all tariffs and return “to the right path of resolving disputes.”
“We call to take a big step towards the complete cancellation of illegal actions and to return to the right path of resolving differences with the help of equal dialogue based on mutual respect”, – added the Ministry of Trade of the People’s Republic of China.
We will remind that on April 11, the administration of US President Donald Trump exempted smartphones, computers and other electronics from import duties. This decision was taken after Trump imposed a 145% tariff on products from China in April. This directly affected large technology companies, in particular Apple, which manufactures most of its products in China.
In addition, Trump temporarily suspended for 90 days tariffs against most of the US’s trading partners, which were to take effect on April 9. As of April 13, 130 countries have already asked the US to negotiate on tariff policy.
