China has banned the supply of dual-use goods to the largest US arms manufacturers

The Ministry of Commerce of China announced the introduction of a ban on the supply of dual-purpose goods to 28 American defense companies. About this informs The New York Times.

These measures are aimed at ensuring national security and protecting the country’s strategic interests. They are implemented within the framework of the law on export control and regulation of the export of goods that can have both civilian and military purposes. One of the reasons for such restrictions was compliance with China’s international obligations regarding the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.

Among the companies under the ban are well-known US defense industry giants, including General Dynamics, Boeing Defense, Space & Security, Lockheed Martin Corporation and Raytheon Missiles & Defense.

In addition, the Chinese Ministry has included dozens of foreign defense enterprises in the lists of unreliable contractors. This is due to their supply of arms to Taiwan, which, according to Beijing, threatens its sovereignty.

We will remind that at the end of December, China announced its intention to limit the export of components for drones. In response to US sanctions against Chinese companies for supplying dual-use products to Russia, Beijing imposed new export restrictions on products that can be used in the military sphere on December 1.
