China is actively contributing to the escalation of the war in Ukraine: Stoltenberg
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg expressed serious concern about China’s role in Russia’s war against Ukraine, urging Beijing to stop supporting Moscow’s aggression. In an interview, quoted Reuters, Stoltenberg said that China plays a crucial role in the continuation of the conflict by contributing to the production of weapons used by Russia.
“China has become a decisive factor in Russia’s war against Ukraine. China makes it possible to produce many weapons used by Russia”Stoltenberg told reporters in Oslo.
He also warned Beijing that such support could have serious consequences for China’s international reputation and interests, urging the Chinese authorities to immediately stop any support for Russia’s illegal actions.
For its part, China has previously rejected NATO’s accusations as “malicious and baseless,” underscoring tensions between the alliance and Beijing.
It is worth noting that Stoltenberg is not the first to address issues of international military support to Russia. Previously, he emphasized the significant role of North Korea in the supply of military equipment for the Russian army. In addition, the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance recently commented for the first time on the actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in Kurshchyna, noting that they correspond to Ukraine’s right to self-defense in accordance with international law.
