Chinese Embassy in US releases list of ‘red lines’ ahead of Trump-Xi talks
Embassy of China in the USA stated about four “red lines” in relations with Washington against the backdrop of the arrival of US President Donald Trump in Beijing for negotiations with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
Beijing includes the issues of Taiwan, democracy and human rights, development paths and political systems, as well as China’s right to development.
It is expected that during the bilateral talks the parties will discuss trade issues, US arms sales to Taiwan, as well as the war in Iran. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in China together with Trump.
Kyiv expects that during the contacts in Beijing the issue of ending Russia’s war against Ukraine will also be raised. The talks are taking place against the backdrop of tense relations between the US and China and mutual contradictions over security, trade and Taiwan.
