“Since 2014, at least 790 children have been killed as a result of Russia’s war against Ukraine. These are 790 killed universes and burned families. Each such tragedy is another evidence of the genocide of the Ukrainian people. The world must react to the murders of innocent children and act to punish Russia and prevent new victims,” the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine notes Dmytro Lubinets.

The war deprived children not only of their right to safety, but also to education and a happy future. As a result of hostilities in the country, 2,800 schools and kindergartens were destroyed or damaged.

In addition to injuries resulting from hostilities, children are subjected to forced deportations and illegal adoptions on the territory of the Russian Federation. Sometimes even those who have parents in Ukraine are adopted. Currently, more than 19,000 Ukrainian minors can be classified as “forcefully deported”.
