1941 – The United States and Great Britain declared war on Japan
After the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, which became a turning point in World War II, the United States and Great Britain officially declared war on Japan. 1942 – Francisco Franco made his choice between two ideologies
Spanish dictator Francisco Franco declared: “The world chooses between communism and fascism, and I choose the latter.” This position cemented Spain’s political orientation towards an authoritarian regime, which remained in the country until Franco’s death in 1975.
1963 – opening of the Ukrainian Catholic University in Rome

1980 – the tragic death of John Lennon
