Denmark allocated a new package of military aid to Ukraine worth more than $400 million

Denmark announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 1.6 billion crowns (approximately 400 million euros). This reports the press service of the Danish Ministry of Defense.

Within the 27th package, part of the funds will be directed to the purchase of weapons from domestic manufacturers for further transfer to the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Another part of the amount will be used for “other forms of assistance”, however, the department did not specify what exactly it is about.

“Ukraine’s need for military support remains huge, and one of the best ways we can help is – is to increase the contribution to the Ukrainian defense industry. That is why today we are additionally allocating almost 1.6 billion kroner for the so-called “Danish model”, – noted the Minister of Defense of Denmark, Troels Lund Poulsen.

Let us remind you that in 2024, Ukraine and Denmark introduced a model of support called “Danish”. Its essence is to finance the purchase of weapons for the Defense Forces of Ukraine from Ukrainian companies. In general, for the period of 2024-2027, Denmark has invested in the “Danish model” about 5.9 billion crowns (over 920 million euros).

To date, approximately 18.5 billion kroner (2.9 billion euros) in donations have already been pledged within this model. To a large extent, this became possible thanks to the contributions of allies, in particular the European Union.
