Donald Trump announced the increasing pressure on the Russian Federation from the US and NATO to end the war against Ukraine

US President Donald Trump said that Washington, together with NATO allies, is increasing pressure on Russia to end the war against Ukraine. He also expressed hope that Ukraine and Russia will sit down at the negotiating table in the near future. This was announced by Trump during a meeting with the President of Finland Alexander Stubb at the White House.

When Trump was asked if he would increase pressure on Russia to reach a peace deal on Ukraine, he said:

“Yes, we are increasing the pressure. We move forward together. We all get active. NATO has shown itself excellently.

According to him, the USA sells weapons to the member countries of the Alliance, a large part of which is transferred to Ukraine. He added that “these decisions” the further distribution of weapons is decided by the NATO countries, but they purchase it from the USA.

The head of the White House also expressed hope for a quick start of negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow:

“This is a terrible war. It is worse than the Second World War. And I think Moscow and Kyiv will soon come to negotiations.

When asked about the possibility of introducing sanctions against the Russian Federation, Trump answered that it could happen.
