Donald Trump Nominated David Sachs to Head of US Policy on AI and Cryptocurrencies
US President-elect Donald Trump has nominated podcaster, entrepreneur and investor David Sachs for a new key position responsible for shaping US policy in the areas of artificial intelligence and cryptocurrencies. About this informs The Guardian.
According to Trump, Sachs will be responsible for developing a legal framework that will provide the cryptocurrency industry with clarity and opportunities to thrive in the United States. He will also work to protect free speech on the Internet, combat censorship and bias by big tech companies.
“He will work on the legal framework so that the crypto industry gets the clarity it needs and can thrive in the US.” – said Trump, adding that “he will protect freedom of speech on the Internet and lead us away from big-tech bias and censorship.”
David Sachs is an influential figure in Silicon Valley, the former chief operating officer of PayPal and the host of the popular All-In podcast. In June of this year, he organized a large-scale event for major donors at his estate in San Francisco, which brought more than $12 million to the Trump campaign.
Sachs also maintained a close relationship with Elon Musk, notably facilitating his successful acquisition of Twitter, which was later renamed Platform X.
