Drones massively attacked Moscow, Tula, and Novomoskovsk
On May 22, the local authorities of Moscow, Tula and Novomoskovsk announced a massive attack by alleged Ukrainian drones. This is reported by the Russian mass media.
On the morning of May 22, residents of Tula reported more than ten explosions in the sky above the city. According to preliminary data, the blows are repelled by the anti-aircraft defense system. The airspace over Tula was completely closed. The governor of the region announced that the air attack had been repulsed. According to him, the wreckage of one of the UAVs fell on the territory of Tula, no casualties were recorded.
There was also a raid in Novomoskovsk, the second largest city in the Tula region, where a chemical plant and several industrial facilities are located. Local residents report about 19 explosions caused by air defense.
The mayor of Moscow, Serhiy Sobyanin, said that in the last hours, four more drones were shot down, which, according to him, were headed for the capital. According to his reports, the total number of drones shot down during the day is 32. The “Carpet” plan has been implemented at the Domodedovo, Zhukovsky and Vnukovo airports in Moscow.
In addition, the Russian authorities announced a drone attack in the Oryol region. Residents of Maaloarkhangelsk, Mtsensk, and Kromsky district heard the sounds of drones flying very low – almost over the roofs of houses. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, on the evening of May 21, eight UAVs were shot down over the region.
