Electricity will not be turned off to some enterprises in Ukraine: the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers

The head of the government, Denys Shmyhal, believes that this will contribute to the energy autonomy of business.

The government has adopted a resolution according to which enterprises using at least 80% of their own electricity will not be subject to electricity blackout schedules. About this reported Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

“With this decision, we stimulate the energy autonomy of business. This is an important step to increase our energy sustainability.” Shmyhal stressed.

This regulation aims to support businesses that invest in their own generating capacity, allowing them to continue operating without interruptions in the supply of electricity even during crisis situations.

People’s deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak added, that the government planned to extend the exemption from blackout schedules for businesses that are 80% or more self-generated. “This is similar to the import of electricity”Zheleznyak noted.

The Cabinet of Ministers also adopted Resolution No. 611 dated May 30, 2024, which increased the share of imports in electricity consumption for industry from 30% to 80% in each specific hour. This will ensure a stable power supply during hourly outages.

These measures are aimed at supporting the stable operation of critically important enterprises and contribute to increasing Ukraine’s energy independence.
