Elon Musk’s younger brother organized Europe’s largest drone show in the Vatican (video)

Tens of thousands of people gathered in St. Peter’s Square in Rome to watch 3,000 drones reproduce Michelangelo’s masterpieces outside the Sistine Chapel. It was the largest drone show in Europe, organized by Nova Sky Stories, a company owned by Kimbal Musk, Elon Musk’s younger brother, with special permission from the Holy See. This is reported by National Geographic.

The Vatican has broken an age-old tradition by allowing a light show during the first-ever concert in St. Peter’s Square. Voices of Fire hip-hop choir, American rapper Pharrell Williams, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, soul singer John Legend and American Idol finalist Jennifer Hudson participated in the program.

In the sky, hundreds of drones created a three-dimensional heart, doves of peace, the famous touch of God’s finger to Adam, a portrait of the late Pope Francis and other symbolic images. The idea of this show was proposed by Kimbal Musk to the Vatican at the beginning of 2024, when Pope Francis was alive. Then began a year and a half of negotiations, obtaining permits and detailed planning of the program. The project was also supported by the first American Pope Leo XIV.

Although the pontiff was not personally present, he approved everything in advance, from the lyrics of the songs played in the square to the speeches prepared for the event.

It is noted that this show was a risky move for the Vatican, but the concert, which lasted more than two hours, caused the audience a feeling of joy, unity and admiration – people sang and danced together to the music and light installations.
