Emmanuel Macron performed a song by Charles Aznavour in Yerevan

French President Emmanuel Macron sang the French chanson in Yerevan after the summit of the European Political Community, which Armenia hosted. This was reported by the dpa agency.

Macron performed the song “La Bohème” by Charles Aznavour, one of the most famous performers of French chanson. Aznavour was born in Paris in 1924 to a family of Armenian immigrants and maintained close ties with Armenia.

During his speech, the French President was accompanied by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, who played the drums. The President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, played the piano with one hand.

The banquet in Yerevan took place after a meeting of almost 40 European leaders. France remains one of Armenia’s key partners in the West, particularly in the field of defense and diplomatic support. Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 7, 2026.
