EU representatives were shown foreign components of missiles and drones used by the Russian Federation to attack Ukraine
Representatives of European countries were showed foreign components found in Russian missiles and drones, with which Russia attacked Ukraine on the night of May 24. These are parts from the Zircon, Caliber, Kh-101 missiles and Geran-2 drones.
According to the Office of the President of Ukraine, these samples contained components manufactured in Switzerland, Germany, the USA, Great Britain, Japan, China and other countries. Some of the parts, as noted in the Office of the President of Ukraine, were manufactured this year.
“Representatives of European countries were shown parts of the Russian Zircon, Caliber, Kh-101 missiles and Geran-2 drones, with which Russia attacked Ukraine on the night of May 24. They contained foreign-made components, namely, Switzerland, Germany, the USA, Great Britain, Japan, China and others, manufactured, in particular, this year,” the Office of the President of Ukraine reported.
Separately, the ambassadors were shown boards from Oreshnik, which, according to Ukrainian data, contain only Russian and Belarusian components manufactured in 2004-2014. Advisor and Commissioner of the President of Ukraine on Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasyuk said that it was necessary to focus on stopping the supply of parts to Russia.
“This will be a significant blow to the capabilities of Russian defense production,” Vlasyuk said.
He also stressed the importance of strengthening control over Belarus’ access to foreign electronics. According to Ukrainian data, some of the components for Russian missiles were manufactured at the Minsk plant “Integral”, in particular microchips and boards for cruise missiles and Oreshnik.
Ukraine has called on European partners to strengthen coordination in countering Russia’s “shadow fleet,” including stopping and arresting vessels based on materials from Ukrainian intelligence and law enforcement agencies. These measures should make it more difficult for Russia to access technologies and resources for further weapons production.
