On February 23, at around 8:30 p.m., an explosion occurred in the administrative building of the police in the Amur-Nizhnyodneprovskyi district of the city of Dnipro. The National Police of Ukraine reported this.
According to preliminary information, there were no casualties. As a result of the blast wave, windows were broken, furniture and computer equipment inside the building were damaged. In addition, a car parked near the building was damaged.
Explosives technicians, forensic experts and the investigative and operational group of police department No. 1 of Dnipropetrovsk district police department No. 2 are working at the scene. Law enforcement officers are investigating all the circumstances of the incident.
Today, an explosion also occurred in Mykolaiv. At about 18:20, an improvised explosive device detonated on the territory of an out-of-service gas station located near the administrative building of the patrol police department in the region. According to the data of the Prosecutor General’s Office, seven police officers were injured as a result of the explosion, one of them is in serious condition. Earlier, it was reported that two were seriously injured.
An investigative and operational group worked at the scene, and priority investigative actions were carried out. A pre-trial investigation was initiated under Part Two of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (terrorist act that caused serious consequences). The proceedings are being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine.
A number of explosions were recorded in various regions of Ukraine during February. In particular, incidents occurred in Odessa and Kolomiya. Law enforcement officers also reported the detention of individuals suspected of involvement in the preparation or commission of terrorist attacks.
On February 21, explosions occurred in the center of Lvivwhile patrol police crews were responding to a call about breaking into a store. As a result of the incident, a 23-year-old policewoman died, and a service car and civilian transport were damaged. A criminal case was also opened under the article on a terrorist act. The alleged perpetrator was detained and informed of the suspicion.
Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko stated that the investigation has grounds to believe that the terrorist attack in Lviv was ordered. Subsequently, President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed this assessment, noting that law enforcement agencies are considering the version of Russian involvement.
