Former State Emergency Service official to be tried for illegal enrichment of almost UAH 13 million
An indictment was submitted to the court against a former official of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Zaporizhia region, who is accused of illegal enrichment. This was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor’s Office, an indictment was sent to the court against a former official of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The investigation established that in 2021-2023, the accused, while serving as the head of a special-purpose emergency and rescue unit, acquired assets worth almost UAH 13 million, the legality of whose origin could not be confirmed.
This concerns cash seized during searches in the amount of more than five million hryvnias, as well as Toyota Land Cruiser 3.3 Twin Turbo, 10 AT Premium PD (2022), Mercedes-Benz EQC 400 (2021), Volkswagen Touareg (2020).
“Expertise tests confirmed that the declared value of these cars is significantly lower than their real market price”, the prosecutor’s office noted.
In order to hide the illegal origin of the property, the ownership was registered in the name of the wife and a trusted person.
Earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation reported suspicion of illegal enrichment to the head of the State Service Department emergencies in Zaporizhia region. He purchased luxury cars, the cost of which significantly exceeds official income.
