France will allocate 200 million euros for grant projects in Ukraine

Ukraine and France discussed the implementation of priority projects for the restoration of energy and critical infrastructure, which will be financed within the framework of the Grant Agreement between the governments of the two countries in the amount of 200 million euros. This topic became central during the meeting of the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko with the delegation of France headed by the Special Envoy of the President of the French Republic on Aid and Reconstruction of Ukraine, Pierre Elbron.

“Currently, the Government’s priority is the implementation of projects for the restoration of Ukrainian energy and the construction of a decentralized generation system that will provide citizens with electricity and provide the opportunity for further economic recovery.”, — noted Yulia Svyridenko.

She also noted that grant funds from the French government will be directed to the reconstruction and rehabilitation of critical infrastructure in key sectors such as energy, health, infrastructure, agriculture, water supply, waste processing, demining and housing.

Svyridenko called on French partners to join investment projects for the restoration of Ukraine. She emphasized the launch of the Strategic Investment Council, which will help coordinate public investment projects, improve transparency and effectively allocate funding.

During the meeting, issues related to demining were also discussed: increasing the purchase of equipment, training of personnel and increasing the potential of mine action activities. In addition, the parties touched on government programs supporting citizens and businesses, such as “eOselya”, “Affordable loans 5-7-9%”, grant programs for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as the “Made in Ukraine” initiative.
