France will transfer Mirage fighters to Ukraine faster than planned
France has decided to speed up the transfer of Mirage fighters to Ukraine and help strengthen the country’s air defense system. About this reported Volodymyr Zelenskyi after meeting with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.
Zelensky thanked France for comprehensive support, in particular for the decision to speed up the delivery of aircraft and help in strengthening air defense. The leaders of Ukraine and France also discussed other important issues.
“I emphasized the importance of inviting Ukraine to NATO, expanding long-range capabilities – not only as a necessary measure to counter Russian aggression, but also to bring peace closer – and continuing the training and equipping of Ukrainian brigades both on the territories of the member states of the Alliance, and through the development of the proposed France ideas about training missions on the territory of Ukraine”, – said Zelensky.
The President of Ukraine emphasized that international assistance remains crucial for countering Russia’s aggression and bringing peace closer. The French Mirage 2000 fighters are effective combat machines, but they cannot completely replace the F-16 for Ukraine’s needs.
