From 2028, ninth-graders will take the State Examination in the external evaluation format
Starting in 2028, 9th grade students will take the state final certification in the form of an external independent assessment. As stated in the order of the Ministry of Education and Science, in May of this year, ninth graders must take the State Examination in Ukrainian language and literature, as well as mathematics.
In the coming years, it is planned to expand the list of subjects by adding disciplines of the natural cycle, history and civics, as well as foreign languages. A special educational platform is planned to be created for the certification, and the tasks for testing and administering the assessment will be prepared by the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment.
The 9th grade GPA will be based on competency-based tasks, including both written and oral forms of answers. As reported, this school year the state final certification for students in grades 4, 9, and 11 has been canceled.
