From Monday, Poland will close one of the checkpoints on the border with Ukraine

Repairs are expected to last until at least November 14, 2024.

Polish border guards reported on the planned overhaul near the Ukrainian border crossing Yagodyn. Repair work on the pavement at the crossing in Dorogusk will begin on Monday, August 5. This is reported by the Polish publication RMF24 with reference to the Nadbuzhan branch of the border service.

Repairs will last until November 14 this year, which will lead to significant traffic complications. Truck drivers should expect longer queues and longer waiting times to enter Poland. Polish border guards recommend carriers to choose other border crossing points if possible.

“Truck drivers should expect traffic complications and a longer waiting time for entering Poland. Until then, transporters should, if possible, choose other border crossing points,” the border guards said.

As informs informator.ua, on the morning of Saturday, August 3, about 300 trucks were waiting in line to leave Poland for Ukraine through the Dorogusk border crossing. The waiting time for crossing the border was approximately 10-12 hours, and this despite the fact that the repair work had not yet begun.

At the same time, the operational command of the Armed Forces of Poland launched two operations on August 1 aimed at strengthening national security on the country’s eastern border. These measures were a response to Belarus’ migration pressure on Warsaw and Russia’s air attacks on the western regions of Ukraine.

Repair work and increased security at the border may create additional problems for carriers and drivers using this route. It is important that all interested parties take these circumstances into account and, where possible, plan their routes accordingly.
