German Foreign Ministry summons Russian ambassador over threats to European factories producing UAVs for Ukraine

The German Foreign Ministry summoned the ambassador of the Russian Federation to express an official protest against the intimidation by the Russian defense ministry against European drone manufacturers.

The statement of the German diplomatic service on the social network X emphasizes that direct threats to facilities on German territory are an attempt to undermine unity and weaken assistance to Ukraine. The Foreign Ministry emphasized that they will not allow themselves to be intimidated, and any threats or espionage in the country are absolutely unacceptable, which was the reason for summoning the ambassador.

On April 17, the Czech Foreign Ministry took a similar step, demanding an explanation from the Russian diplomat regarding threats to companies that cooperate with Kyiv.

On April 15, the Russian Defense Ministry published two lists of European facilities that, according to them, are involved in the production of attack drones and parts for Ukraine. The first list (“Branches of Ukrainian companies in Europe”) includes 11 organizations in Prague, Munich, Riga, London, and Vilnius. The second list (“Foreign enterprises producing components”) includes 10 companies located, in particular, in Venice, Madrid, and Haifa.

Moscow explained the publication of these addresses by the desire to inform European residents about the “causes of threats to their security.” However, journalists from the Meduza publication noticed that one of the listed addresses in Munich is actually an ordinary residential building.

Additionally, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev commented on the situation on the X network, calling these enterprises “a list of potential targets for the Russian armed forces” and noting that the possibility of strikes on them will depend on the further course of events.
