Germany and the UK are preparing to sign a new security agreement

Great Britain and Germany are preparing to sign a historic defense agreement that will significantly strengthen military ties between the Kingdom and the countries of the European Union. About this informs edition of The Times.
It is noted that this agreement will allow British and German forces to conduct joint exercises on the eastern flank of NATO, probably on the territory of Estonia and Lithuania. In addition, the document envisages the possibility of joint purchases of weapons and cooperation in the development and production of new generation weapons. This will be an important step for strengthening cooperation between the defense sectors of both countries.
London hopes that the deal will boost the defense industry in both Britain and Germany, especially as the West tries to increase production of military equipment after massive arms transfers to Ukraine worth tens of billions of euros.
According to the publication’s sources, the agreement with Germany is an important step on the way to future negotiations with Brussels, which are scheduled for 2025. In fact, it is considered the “first stage” of the formation of a new model of defense cooperation between Great Britain and the European Union.
The Times also notes that negotiations between Britain and Germany are already in the final stages, and the signing of the agreement is expected in the near future.
It is interesting that Germany recently also concluded an agreement with Ukraine on urgent measures to strengthen the air defense system, which emphasizes the importance of international military coordination in modern conditions.
