Germany exported weapons worth 7.48 billion euros in the first half of 2024, most of them to Ukraine

The German government has issued export licenses for military equipment worth at least 7.48 billion euros in the first half of 2024. According to the answer of the Ministry of Economy of Germany to the request of the member of the Bundestag, the vast majority of these weapons are intended for Ukraine.
This is stated on the agency’s website DPA.
According to official data, from January 1 to June 18, the German government approved the supply of military goods abroad worth at least 7.48 billion euros. Of these, weapons account for 5.52 billion euros, and other military equipment – 1.96 billion euros.
The total volume of exports of military goods, including weapons and other military equipment, amounted to 7.48 billion euros, which is 30% higher than in the first half of 2023. Of this amount, 4.88 billion euros (65%) are intended for Ukraine.
Singapore, India, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are also among the top five recipients of German weapons.
It should be noted that last year German arms exports reached a record level of 12.2 billion euros, of which 4.4 billion euros were supplied to Ukraine. In the first three months of 2024, Germany approved the export of weapons to Ukraine for 3.54 billion euros.
