Government approves new rules for trade services
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved new rules for trade services to the population, aimed at clearer regulation of trade and strengthening the protection of consumer rights, in particular in the field of online trade. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Economy.
The updated requirements contain both improved norms of the current legislation and new provisions. In particular, shops and public catering establishments must ensure accessibility for people with disabilities – equip ramps, special parking spaces and provide assistance to sellers as needed. Mobile points of sale cannot impede the access of citizens with limited mobility to transport and other facilities.
In addition, the new rules provide for the possibility of obtaining information about goods and sellers in digital format via QR codes, as well as in paper form upon request. They clarify the requirements for the organization of trade, provide separate places for the storage of employees’ belongings and establish stricter standards for measuring devices.
E-commerce companies are required to have warehouse facilities and sell through agents or with delivery. The document also regulates wholesale trade, including online stores, and prohibits the sale of goods that can be mistaken for food, but are not edible, which is especially important for the safety of children.
These rules will come into effect after the end of martial law, when the updated consumer protection law comes into force.
